GIVIN’ ’ER AND GOING OUT FOR A RIP

In certain enclaves, white people practice the tradition of givin’ ’er, while other communities are known to go out for a rip. In either case, this means getting drunk with your buddies. Whether it’s a mickey (a flask) of screech (moonshine rum) in the Chi (pronouned “she,” short for Miramichi) or a two-four (a case) of pops (beers) in Etobicoke, there is rarely a “her” present, and going out for a rip in your mother’s basement counts as “out.”

Canada’s vulnerable white cultures are endangered by growing external pressures. These include: petitions to get rid of fighting in hockey, feminist critiques of video games, the Extreme Pita fast food chain.
